Welder Cum Mechanical Technician

Purpose to hire for this job

To perform and recommend maintenance operations including inspection, adjustment, lubrication, disassembling, repairing, and monitoring the performance of mechanical equipment and LV electrical equipment. The role also includes performing welding using various techniques and metallurgical knowledge to position and assemble structural forms, such as pressure vessels, valves, and pumps. Furthermore, the Welder Cum Mechanical Technician is responsible for collecting, recording, and reporting data in the CMMS

Key Responsibilities

Laying out, positioning, and securing parts and assemblies according to specifications, using a straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler.

● Tack-welding or welding components and assemblies, using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment.

● Following the rules and regulations of the company.

● Taking daily rounds of all plant, checking, and reporting for any abnormality.

● Understanding the job clearly prior to starting the work and ensuring the safety and quality of the work.

● Utilizing spares effectively.

● Working as a team with other operation and maintenance sections to optimize various activities.

● Performing preventive, corrective, and other maintenance programs as assigned in an effective manner, ensuring timely completion of the work.

● Preventing corrosion by cleaning and painting equipment.

● Monitoring and maintaining all mechanical equipment in the best possible ways.

● Ensuring cleanliness of the area, equipment, and tools after completion of work.

● Managing a personal toolbox and personal protective equipment.

● Understanding, adhering, applying, and carrying out tasks and duties in accordance with QSE policies, rules, and procedures.

● Reporting QHSE risks and impacts associated with activities.

● Performing On Call Duty and working overtime when required.

● Respecting any specific request from the manager and engineer.

● Troubleshooting on equipment.

Knowledge of

• SDSS Welding of components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions and other welding techniques.
• Safe practices and procedures, standards of conduct, and work performance.
• Understandings of pumps, compressors, air conditioners, and generators.
• Reverse Osmosis water treatment plant operation practices and procedures is a plus

Salary & Facilities- Riyal Omani 350-400 based on skills and experience in the job + Free Accommodation + Company Transport for all Official Function +  9 Hours Duty & 1 Hour Lunch Break ( Total 10 Hours Daily Duty ) + Over Times as and when required
