Position: Heavy Machinery Workshop Supervisor

Location: Dubai, UAE

We are looking for a Diploma Holder in Mechanical, Automobile, Diesel, or Heavy Equipment Engineering with extensive hands-on experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy machinery.

Key Requirements

  • Diploma in Mechanical, Automobile, Diesel, or Heavy Equipment Engineering.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in heavy machinery workshops.
  • Proven experience as a Workshop Supervisor (GCC or Outside GCC), Foreman, or Senior Mechanic.
  • Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, powertrain, transmission, and heavy equipment maintenance.
  • Experience working on equipment such as excavators, wheel loaders, backhoe loaders, rollers, graders, cranes, forklifts, and other construction machinery.
  • Ability to accurately diagnose machine breakdowns, identify the root cause of failures, and recommend the most effective repair solution.
  • Capable of supervising mechanics, allocating repair work, and ensuring repairs are carried out as per OEM standards.
  • Strong understanding of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment reliability.
  • Ability to read service manuals, hydraulic and electrical schematics, and use diagnostic tools.
  • Good leadership, communication, and workshop management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily operations of the heavy machinery workshop.
  • Diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic, and diesel engine failures and provide technical guidance to workshop mechanics.
  • Assess repair requirements and determine whether components should be repaired or replaced.
  • Prepare detailed Breakdown Assessment Reports for every major machine failure, identifying the root cause, repair scope, estimated downtime, and recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Review and validate the requirement for spare parts before procurement by confirming that the requested parts are necessary for the repair.
  • Submit technical reports and recommendations to the Procurement Manager for approval of spare parts purchases and repair works, ensuring all procurement requests are technically justified and cost-effective.
  • Verify that the repair methodology and spare parts requested are appropriate before any purchase order is issued.
  • Supervise all repair activities and ensure work is completed efficiently, safely, and to OEM standards.
  • Monitor repair quality and machine performance after repairs are completed.
  • Coordinate with the Procurement Department regarding spare parts requirements, technical specifications, and alternative repair options where applicable.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize recurring breakdowns and equipment downtime.
  • Maintain service history, maintenance records, and workshop documentation for all equipment.
  • Train and mentor workshop mechanics to improve technical competency and workshop productivity.

Preference will be given to candidates with GCC/UAE experience and hands-on knowledge of Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, Hitachi, JCB, SANY, Hyundai, Doosan, and other heavy construction equipment.
