Job Title: Service Engineer

The Service Engineer will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a range of heavy machinery and equipment. This role involves working closely with customers and service teams to ensure the equipment is in optimal working condition and meets industry standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, a problem-solving mindset, and a passion for delivering high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities:

 Diagnostics and Repairs:

Perform detailed inspections and diagnostics on heavy machinery and equipment.

o Identify mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic issues in heavy equipment.

o Carry out repairs and replacements of defective parts, components, and systems as required.

Test equipment post-repair to ensure proper functionality.

 Maintenance: o Perform routine preventive maintenance services on heavy equipment, including lubrication, fluid checks, and system testing. o Maintain detailed records of all services performed, including maintenance schedules and repairs.

Customer Interaction:

o Provide technical support to customers, both on-site and remotely, regarding equipment issues and maintenance.

o Communicate repair and maintenance recommendations to customers clearly and professionally. o Assist customers in understanding and troubleshooting basic equipment issues.

 Technical Support and Problem Solving:

o Work closely with the service team to address complex technical problems and ensure efficient resolution.

o Keep up-to-date with the latest technical knowledge, trends, and industry practices related to heavy equipment.

o Liaise with the parts department to ensure timely availability of necessary parts for repairs.

 Documentation and Reporting:

Prepare and submit accurate service reports, including diagnostic findings, repairs, and maintenance actions.

o Maintain accurate service records and documentation for each piece of equipment serviced.

o Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards in all repair and maintenance tasks.

Training and Development:

o Provide training and guidance to junior technicians and service staff when necessary.

o Continuously improve technical knowledge and stay updated with the latest developments in heavy machinery technology.

Qualifications: Education:

 Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering (or a related field) is preferred.

 Additional certifications or training in heavy equipment or specific machinery brands (e.g., Caterpillar, Komatsu) is a plus.Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in servicing, maintaining, and repairing heavy machinery or equipment.

 Experience working with both mechanical and electrical systems in heavy equipment is essential.

Skills:

 Strong knowledge of heavy machinery systems, including hydraulics, electrical systems, and engine mechanics.

 Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment.

 Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics for troubleshooting and repairs.

 Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

 Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

 Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in a clear, customer-friendly manner.

 Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and dealership management software.
