General Manager ( Plants & Equipment)

Accountable for the planning, organisation, and coordination of all workshop functions (Base workshop and site workshops), directly managing repair, maintenance, and fleet operations. Ensure all work is completed within stipulated timeframes while adhering to company policies and procedures, supporting the Project Services Unit in delivering high-quality, efficient plant management.

Strategic:

1. Prepare and monitor the Plant & Equipment division’s business plan to ensure alignment with  strategic objectives and policies.

2. Evaluate and recommend asset procurement options on behalf of the Vice President - Project Services to ensure optimal operational efficiency.

3. Oversee and optimise repair and maintenance processes through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure timely and cost-effective outcomes.

Financial:

4. Prepare and submit Management Information System (MIS) reports for the Plant & Equipment division in collaboration with the accounts unit, maintaining clear visibility on financial performance and resource utilisation.

5. Exercise effective controls on repair and maintenance and its cost Operational:

6. Oversee resource allocation for fleet and equipment repairs, coordinating manpower, spare parts, and materials to maintain operational continuity.Evaluate and approve external repair services and sign purchase orders for workshop requirements based on operational needs.

8. Provide technical support to site workshops, establishing maintenance schedules and issuing technical bulletins to standardise processes.

9. Lead the renewal of annual contracts for critical supplies like lubricants and batteries, ensuring cost effective agreements are in place.

10. Participate in auctions for fleet purchases and disposals and serve as an active committee member in fleet disposal decisions.

11. Conduct investigations on fleet-related accidents and oversee prompt settlements.

12. Complete any relevant task assigned from time to time by the reporting manager.

People Development:

13. Lead and mentor the team, promoting a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement, safety, and quality.

14. Oversee training programmes to enhance technical skills and safety awareness, ensuring that the team stays updated with industry standards and company  operational expectations.
