Sultanate of Oman is the official name of the country.

Location: Southeastern corner of the Arabian Peninsula.

Area: 82,030 sq mi (212,457 km2).

Population: 2,000,000 (estimate).

Temperature : 18°C to 34°C (64°F to 93°F) Coastal temperatures reaching 46° C (115° F) and those in the interior even higher. The average rainfall in the country ranges from 77 to 102mm (3 to 4in) annually.

Capital and Largest City: Muscat.

Government: Sultanate. Head of state and government sultan. He is advised by a consultative council (Majlis al-Shoura).

7:30/8:00am-2:00pm Saturday through Wednesday.
Thursday: 7:30/8:00am-1:00pm.

Business Hours

8:00am-1:00pm and 4:00pm-7:00/7:30pm, except Friday evening.

Bank Opening Hours

8:00am-noon Saturday to Wednesday.
8:00am-noon Thursday.
